VentKlima provided the beautiful primary school Het Epos with a sustainable healthy and comfortable indoor climate consisting of air treatment units, ducts and airsocks, which provide the pupils with fresh air based on a maximum permitted CO2 level in each room (fresh schools class B). An air treatment unit with heat pumps was installed for the sports hall so that, as well as providing sufficient fresh air, the hall could be heated or cooled without badminton shuttlecocks flying in unexpected directions.

A nice detail: the entire building is constructed in such a way that it can be dismantled (MODULINĀ© design). The biggest challenge for VentKlima was fitting their removable and reusable installation into this building system. The result was that about 70% of the plant was prefabricated in their factory space in Zwolle.

Het Epos primary school

Primary school Het Epos is a new primary school in Zuidwijk, Rotterdam. The school aims to be among the best schools in Rotterdam, and wants to support children in Zuidwijk in their growth and development. Their education is designed to pay extra attention to growth, talent development and the neighbourhood. At The Epos, every child is allowed to be themselves. The school attaches great importance to respecting the differences between people, such as different religious beliefs, origins and orientation.

There are six core values at the heart of Het Epos' teaching: community, curiosity, perseverance, growth, achievement and happiness. Besides the core values and a good atmosphere, air quality also plays an important role in the new school, so that the children can learn, play and exercise in a healthy indoor climate.

It is all about creating a learning culture where everyone learns: children, parents and not least teachers. Research is a very important part of this for the school. The school aims to provide good insight into pupils' growth and in order to do so collects structural data on pupils' development. This is how the school seeks to continuously improve. To achieve that, the primary school even has its own data specialist in-house.
