About CoTrans

CoTrans is a logistics company based in Hapert and has been a reliable transport partner for 35 years. Since 2024, the family-run business has operated as an independent private limited company under the umbrella of Van der Heijden Transport. With a fleet of forty of its own vehicles, ranging from small to large, it transports “anything that fits on a pallet” as well as products requiring special care, according to transport manager Roy Luijten. Around three-quarters of the goods go to the Netherlands, and a quarter to Belgium. The company specialises in 24-hour distribution, with a strong focus on service. “That’s where you can make a difference,” says Roy.

Our partnership in the spotlight

It is this service that brought Interduct and CoTrans together around 2010, says account manager Hugo Lammers, who was then director of the trading company VentTrade. “We are not a wholesaler that traditionally transports everything on pallets. We also handle long goods, such as three-metre-long pipes. These are susceptible to damage and cannot be transported upright. That’s quite a challenge. It was important for us to find a partner willing to take on that work. You could offer the job to ten hauliers, but nine of them would turn it down.” Photo: Hugo (VentTrade)

Familiar faces, reliable service

Another important point for Interduct: anyone ordering goods can have them delivered by CoTrans to their business address or directly to the building site, even at specific times. This differs from standard practice. “Not every haulier offers that service,” says Hugo. “What’s great is that CoTrans really thinks things through with us. The drivers know the people in our warehouse as well as the customers, and they know what time they can be where and how they can help. We also deliver goods on racks. Those racks have to be returned, as they’re not allowed to be left on site. CoTrans takes care of that too. We’ve struck gold with them.”

The strenght of partnership

What began as a partnership with VentTrade alone has, over the past 15 years, expanded to encompass the entire Interduct Group. CoTrans handles all business-to-business deliveries, both to companies within the group and to installers and wholesalers. In addition to linear goods, this now also includes all palletised goods.

As far as Hugo is concerned, the strength of the partnership lies in CoTrans’s willingness to think alongside Interduct. “If, for example, we have an urgent request, CoTrans might not be able to deliver it on the same day, but they’ll be at our door at 7.00 am the next morning to load up. That sort of thing is what makes it a real partnership.” Roy agrees: “Quick response times, a solutions-oriented approach, short lines of communication, flexibility, personal attention – that extra phone call and email.”

‘Good communication is worth its weight in gold – that’s our guiding principle. This is evident in everything we do. Even when things don’t go to plan, we continue to focus on finding solutions.’

A look into the future

Both companies share the same mindset and are therefore a good fit, says Roy. “We take a down-to-earth approach and always operate on the basis of trust. No fuss, just getting things done. In our company, everyone is equally important, from drivers to planners. You need people who are willing to go the extra mile. I recognise that in Interduct too.” Looking ahead to 2030, CoTrans and Interduct want to tackle a major challenge together: deliveries in zero-emission zones. “Urban areas are becoming a challenge,” says Hugo. “A 3-metre-long pipe requires a large lorry. Should we switch to 1-metre pipes that can be transported in smaller vehicles? That’s an issue we’ll tackle together.” In this way, we continue to build a strong partnership and the logistics of tomorrow.
