Ensemble

Ensemble rises from the ground in Veldhoven: four residential buildings of varying heights with a total of 170 rental apartments. Interduct is installing a ventilation system with heat recovery in all homes on behalf of D&J Installatiebureau and Van Schijndel Bouwgroep. Special feature on the roof: coloured ducting.

Project Bossebaan Veldhoven

Project Ensemble

The corner of Burgemeester van Hoofflaan and Bossebaan is an attractive location for residential development: close to the city centre, but in a green setting. The name Ensemble refers to the music school that lies at the heart of the plan. The four residential buildings have their own names and vary in height: Ballata and Concerto are four stories high, Aria has six stories, and Duetto soars twelve stories into the sky.

Van Schijndel Bouwgroep is developing and constructing the project, and Interduct company Rodrie is involved through installer D&J Installatiebureau from Weert. All apartments will have balanced ventilation, as defined in the specifications. During project preparation, although the preference was for an RF-based (wireless) system, Rodrie advocated for a wired system. “That makes it more reliable”, says Project Lead Berry van Hout. “This way, there are no issues with reception disruptions.”

Ductwork in colour

A special feature of this project is the ducting on the roof of Aria, Ballata, and Concerto. According to the specifications, this should be coloured (RAL 7023, concrete grey). The intake ducts have been moved to the roof edge, where they draw in fresh air. The roof edge is visible from the outdoor areas on the top floor. “Coloured ductwork is expensive”, Berry explains. “It provides extra protection for the ducts, but in this case it was chosen for aesthetic reasons.” The system blows air through the shaft ducts onto the roof in a prefabricated roof cowling.

The heat recovery unit is a Zehnder (CAE300/400) with CO2 control in the living room and bedroom and a pulse switch in the bathroom. Additionally, Rodrie installs air treatment units on the roof (Systemair LBK Topvex, with heat recovery) for the ventilation of internal traffic areas. Rodrie also fits the rectangular shaft ducts for the parking garages. A third party provides the ventilation system there.

The power of collaboration

This project in Veldhoven once again exemplifies the collaboration between various companies within the Interduct Group. Rodrie is responsible for the design, installation, and adjustment of the ventilation system in the apartments and common areas. The prefabricated roof cowls, extractor elements, and rectangular ductwork are supplied by Robé. Some of these components are quite large, such as the ducts for the parking garages (130 by 80 cm). Finally, VentTrade supplies the circular ducts and valves. This enables us to ensure a sustainable, healthy, and comfortable indoor climate for residents. Aria and Ballata will be completed in autumn 2025, with Concerto and Duetto ready in Q2 2026.
