Ventilation system gift

Toon Hermans Huis project
The Toon Hermans Huis is a drop-in centre for anyone dealing with cancer. A cup of coffee, a friendly conversation, relaxation or pampering: the doors are open. Because in 2024 Interduct was celebrating its 40th birthday, on 22nd June - Indoor Climate Day - the company gave away a ventilation system worth EUR 10,000. In July, this special meeting place was selected from five nominations through a vote on social media. RenovAir was responsible for getting the job done. The Toon Hermans Huis appeared to have been renovated not so long ago, but ventilation had not been properly taken into consideration in that process. "It was up to us to find a suitable system," says project manager Zoë Thomassen, "We obviously couldn't break everything down and completely rebuild the place."

Combination of ventilation systems
RenovAir installed a combination of systems that together provide a healthy indoor climate throughout the building. An HRV unit (Zehnder E300) ventilates the reception area, stairwell and open kitchen. The unit sits in a skid, a prefabricated enclosure developed by sister company Robé. Several installations can fit in this, but here it was used exclusively for the HRV. The skid is placed outside on the roof against the wall. From the skid, ductwork goes over the roof to where air is drawn in and extracted. That way, the amount or rework inside remains limited: just a supply and extraction point through the ceiling. There is also a workshop at the Toon Hermans Huis. This is equipped with a Zehnder WHR 918, which is concealed in a custom-made floating enclosure 2 metres high. The ductwork goes directly through the façade to the exterior.
An MV box (Zehnder ComfoFan Silent with moisture sensor and RF receiver) extracts air from the first and second floors. Fresh air enters here through window grilles. In addition, RenovAir installed an Itho Daalderop bathroom fan (BTV-ssst) in the bathroom with a toilet.

Strength through collaboration
The occasion and the chosen charity made for a special collaboration. RenovAir conceived and designed the project and was responsible for its implementation. In this, they were supported by various internal and external parties. Then Robé developed and manufactured the skid and Tops Luchtfilters provided free air filters for the HRV systems for the first year. So this is how we provided a healthy indoor climate in the Toon Hermans Huis in Weert.
