"little" project

Project Little C
On the outskirts of Rotterdam, where peace and quiet meets dynamic city life, an entirely new residential district has sprung up: Little Coolhaven (Little C). The 11 residential buildings with as many as 111 flats and several practice rooms and catering facilities offer plenty of space for living, working and learning. All of which happen better in a room with clean air. So Era Contour sought an experienced party big enough to work with them to make this - not exactly "little" - project a success. Bemar proved to be the right choice.

Little Coolhaven, a fine home and haven
All flats and some practice rooms now have a high-performance heat-exchanger system. Depending on what residents' wanted, we installed the air ducts in different ways; some residents wanted flat ducts, while others preferred surface-mounted ducts (visible ducts) to maintain the industrial look. Fresh air is supplied and polluted air is removed through these ducts. In this way, we ensured that the over 200 residents always enjoy an excellent indoor climate, as well as the appearance they preferred.

The power of collaboration
On any assignment, but especially on a project of this size, a clear division of labour and good collaboration are essential. In consultation with Era Contour and contractor J.P. van Eesteren, Bemar created the design and, after approval, Robé made a rapid start on production and delivery of the (rectangular) ducts Robé also provided advice and supplied prefabricated chimneys. Bemar then took care of fitting the system and the installation of the Zehnder heat-exchanger units. This is how we worked together to create a sustainable, healthy and comfortable indoor climate in 111 new-build apartments in Rotterdam.
