OolderVeste

Commissioned by contractor company Vlassak, Interduct carried out the installation of 49 heat exchanger systems for the OolderVeste project in Herten. Because of its location in relation to the Oolderplas lake and the city of Roermond, a bespoke solution was needed. Rodrie was involved in the entire process; from manufacturing the parts to delivery.

OolderVeste project (by the Park)

Four new housing estates with a total of about 900 homes have sprung up in a beautiful waterfront location near Roermond's city centre. For a while, construction plans threatened to sink without trace, as the site was known to be at risk of flooding. That is now history. The necessary embankments transformed this area into the most flood-safe place on the Maas river in this region, and the contractor was given the green light to build OolderVeste (Poort (gateway), aan het Water (by the water), aan de Dijk (by the dike) and aan het Park (by the park)). Contractor Vlassak once again partnered with Rodrie for the installation of ventilation in the OolderVeste Park neighbourhood.

Extraordinary quality of life

All 49 homes are equipped with an energy-efficient heat-exchanger system with wireless controls, that allows easy adjustment of the intake and exhaust air. Because of the waterfront location, we chose a unit with a built-in humidity sensor. If the humidity rises, the system activates immediately, so that residents are always assured of a pleasant indoor climate. Thought was also given to the exterior. To supply fresh air, we used Interduct roof bushings which, unlike many other bushings, are barely visible. Once in the system, the filters remove fine dust and coarser (dust) particles, such as insects from the intake air. The residents are happy, the client is happy, we are happy. That's what it's all about.

The power of collaboration

The extent to which a collaboration is successful is partly determined by the attitudes between them. Which was (also) thankfully no problem at all in this project. In close consultation with the client, Rodrie drew up a plan of action and the wishes and needs were set out in detailed drawings. After approval, we started implementation. This also included some other Interduct companies. It was Robé who produced and supplied the intake ducts, insulation, cover pieces and external air grilles and VentTrade provided dampers, circular ducts, roof bushings and grilles. These were fitted on site by Rodrie and finally connected to the Orcon WTW units. This is how we created a sustainable, healthy and comfortable indoor climate in 49 new-build homes in Herten.
