Parkwijk ’t Ham

Commissioned by contractor company Vlassak, Interduct carried out the installation of 35 heat-exchanger systems for the Parkwijk 't Ham project in Roermond. A unique feature of this project is its green, park-like setting and the challenges that this brings with it. Interduct was involved in the entire process; from manufacturing the parts to delivery.

Parkwijk 't Ham project

The former Pabo site on the Hambeek river in Roermond has been transformed into a beautiful residential area where green and blue dominate. It was for good reason that this new neighbourhood named "the park district by the Ham". Although a place with plenty of vegetation is generally seen as being a healthy environment, this does not automatically mean ideal air quality. In homes in this type of area, the main challenge lies in eliminating pollen, and blocking coarse dust particles and insects. That is why contractor Vlassak was looking for an experienced ventilation expert who could take over full responsibility for installing the ventilation. Their choice went to Rodrie because we are brand-independent as well as being local to the region.

Extraordinary quality of life

All the park apartments, and the waterfront and park villas now have their own heat exchangers that allow residents to control their air intake and extraction themselves. In consultation with the client and the end users, the ventilation systems were fitted with filters that (1) filter fine dust and pollen and (2) block larger (dust) particles. Constant air circulation also keeps the house free of humidity and mould. The client is delighted with the results, and residents are enjoying the many benefits of living in Parkwijk 't Ham.

The power of collaboration

"Alone you go faster, together you go further" is a saying we sometimes hear. Depending on the assignment, we seek the right balance in each project. In project Parkwijk 't Ham, due to the tight schedule, the emphasis was on intense collaboration. First, Rodrie met with the client to get an idea of their needs and requirements, and we then had our draughtsmen turn these into detailed drawings. After approval, we ordered the required products with call-off delivery. We sourced the flat ducts, roof bushings, facade grilles and chimneys from Robé, and VentTrade supplied pipes, accessories, valves and CO2 meters. Rodrie, in turn, was responsible for fitting the ducts and installing the Orcon heat-exchanger units. By working together we provided the 35 new-build homes in Roermond with a sustainable, healthy and comfortable indoor climate.
