Thuisvester project
For 20 years, the indoor climate of the 40 terraced houses had been regulated by CH/heat-exchanger combinations from Agpo Ferroli. With the central heating boilers now disconnected, energy costs rising and visible and audible defects in the units, there was only one path open to the Thuisvester housing association: the ventilation systems had to be replaced. However, that looked like it would be a complicated job. Due to the minimal space available, and the fact that previous systems had both top and bottom connections, options were limited. That is why Thuisvester, as a permanent partner, called on the expertise of ComfortServices.

From 20 (years) to 2.0
Meanwhile, all the systems were replaced by compact Itho Daalderop HRU 350 heat-exchanger units. This high-quality ventilation system is energy-efficient, quiet and, like the old units, features top and bottom connections. This allowed the current set-up to be retained. During the installation of the heat-exchanger units, the valves were also replaced and the ducts cleaned, giving the residents a few more trouble-free years. We placed the radio controls in the rooms where air quality is subject to the biggest variations: the kitchen and the bathroom. With these controls, the air intake and extraction can be quickly and easily adjusted, so that residents constantly enjoy a pleasant indoor climate.

The power of collaboration
Of the many collaborations in this project, one is clearly the most important: the collaboration with residents. After all, if things "click" this has an impact on both the progress of the work and the level of resident satisfaction, and that in turn determines whether Thuisvester will select ComfortServices again next time. We have been the ventilation partner of this housing association for many years, who again awarded us this contract. After the necessary surveys, ComfortServices drew up a plan and submitted it to Thuisvester for approval. Once approved, we tested the feasibility of the plan in a pilot house, scheduled the appointments and listed the materials to be ordered. These were purchased from VentTrade. ComfortServices' fitters were then responsible for installing the units and the associated work. That is how we worked together to create a sustainable, healthy and comfortable indoor climate in 40 terraced houses in Oosterho
