Project Wij Wonen
With the "Wij Wonen" concept, Van Wijnen was responding to one of the most important trends in the housing market - modular living - and offering standard customised homes. Currently, there is a wide choice between seven types of basic houses for which various prefabricated basic components have been defined. These are constantly updated, can be adapted to almost any project, and offer plenty of scope for variations and personalisation. For the project in Teteringen, Van Wijnen once again sought a collaboration with Megaduct. Not just because we are a regular partner for collaboration in ventilation work in the west of the country, but also because we have been involved in this approach from the start.

Customised basic house
As defined in advance, all 18 homes were equipped with their own Zehnder E400 heat-exchanger unit. These are tailored to residents' preferences, so the way they operate may vary from one home to another. A commonly preferred option, for example, is the use of a moisture sensor or additional push-button switch. The ductwork, on the other hand, is relatively standard. Through two separate ducts and roof cowls, (1) polluted air is extracted and (2) clean air is drawn in. Residents therefore always enjoy a pleasant indoor climate, thanks to a ventilation system that suits their needs and wishes.

The power of collaboration
Well begun is half done and (once again) this project provides proof of this saying. Even before a construction application was submitted, the parties involved, including Megaduct, worked together to identify different types of basic houses. Having done this, the "Wij Wonen" concept rapidly became a reality and was ready to be put into practice. As with every Wij Wonen assignment, Megaduct received an overview of the selected homes and client options right at the start of the project. Working from this information, we further developed the models and drawings, which we then submitted to the client for approval. After approval, the implementation phase started. This consisted of fitting the flat ducts manufactured by Robé, installing and setting up the Zehnder heat-exchanger units, and aftercare. Zehnder also supplied the required valves and controls, while VentTrade provided the remaining materials for the project.
